The Last IAC Team left Standing - GO CHIEFS!

On Saturday, Nov 2nd the Southern Cayuga Chiefs played a De-Ja-Vous Final Sectional Match! Back in 2023 the Chiefs lost to the Seton Catholic Saints in the sectional finals 2-1. This time around, the Southern Cayuga Chiefs walked away with a 2-1 victory over Seton Catholic! It was a bitter-sweet hard fought battle for 80 minutes. In the end the Chief's defense was just too much for the Saints! Dani Vasquez put the chiefs on top in the first half finding the upper right corner from 20 yards out after receiving a neat pass from Leif Gunderson. Braxton Young sealed the deal with a 2nd half penalty kick that rippled the net. The Chiefs will face the Section III Winner in the Regionals Championship Round on Saturday, Nov 9th.

The Blue Raiders have won all their games since a season-opening defeat to Lansing. As of September 29, The Blue Raiders are 6-1 on the year. But the campaign kicked off on a low note, as they fell 5-1 on the road to rivals Lansing. There were plenty of lessons to be learned from playing such a high-quality opponent. Trumansburg has a much different look compared to just one season ago. The Blue Raiders lost 12 players due to graduation or other circumstances and added 11 newcomers. That's led to a younger core that includes 11 sophomores. The Blue Raiders are in a neck-and-neck battle with Lansing for top spot in the IAC North Large Division. Even if they fall short of making another IAC Championship, they're set for success once sectionals roll around.
